Gren greets Peggy Landsford and her partner Buck at the front area of Ana's bar. After a brief chat with the two, they lead the guests into the bar and to their table. Noting that they have reserved Table 8 for them as they like them more than the Markmans, the news pleases Peggy. Just before they're seated, Peggy notes that she heard a rumor, and Gren notes that Rita Liontene is not on the bill that night. However, Peggy claims that she knows that Rita is on the planet, and Buck chimes in saying that Rita loves her after-hour jams. To which, Gren suggests that they order another bottle and stay until sunup. Delighted by the news they agree to do it and Gren leaves their table.[1]
Gren directs a dancer to match the musical grooves of a saxophone player. Upon the arrival of Julia, Gren waltz over to their old friend and informs her that Ana is waiting for her.[2]
Talking with Ana in her office about hiring someone who plays the theremin at the bar, their conversation is interrupted by the arrival of Julia. Taking a hint, Gren leaves the office so that Julia and Ana can talk about how Spike is still alive. Smoking a cigarette outside of Ana's office, Gren stops Julia as she leaves the place to warn her that if she ever meets with Spike, she'll die. Furthermore, they claim Ana's not the only one who listens in on the conversations in the building and warns that Vicious will never let her go... so long as he's still alive.[3]
Approaching Ana who was talking with Fearless to tell her about an incident backstage, Gren shows their boss that their next act is unable to perform due to her vomiting in a bucket. As the singer for the next act vomits in a bucket, she's consoled by Julia who is chosen to perform in the next act. On stage, Gren introduces Julia as a virgin talent and goes on to explain her delicate yet refined talents as an artist. Wasting no more time, Gren then welcomes Julia to the stage and her performance is a hit. Eventually, when Fearless tries to run away with Julia, Vicious learns about it from his father. Vicious abruptly enters Ana's office with Gren in tow and throws them across her desk and then demands to know where Fearless is taking Julia.[4]
After his battle with Le Fou, Gren rescues Spike from the rubble in Earthland and takes him back to Ana's bar. How Gren was able to find Spike was that Ana bugged Lin and Gren also comments that he was dumber than his partner Shin. The moment Spike tries to leave so that he can go after Vicious, Faye and Jet arrive at the scene with guns drawn prompting Ana and Gren to draw their guns. Through Spike's mediation of the situation, everyone lowers their weapons, but only for a brief period. Jet gets a call from his daughter Kimmie and he then restrains Spike with a gun to his head prompting Gren and Ana to point their guns at Jet and Faye. It's learned that Vicious has taken Kimmie hostage and wants to exchange her for Spike.[5]
