Culture (from the Latin cultura stemming from colere, meaning "to cultivate") is a term that commonly refers to an integrated pattern of human knowledge, beliefs and behaviors that depend upon the capacity for symbolic thought and social learning. Culture may also envelop the set of shared attitudes, values, goals and practices that characterize an institution, organization or group.

Different planets, moons and other geographical boundaries can develop unique cultures over time while large cities and communities are able to share multiple cultures congruently, which often meld to form a new culture.

Earth CultureEdit

Pre Gate AccidentEdit

Life on Earth before the Gate Accident was similar to modern life in our own world. In the beginning of the 21st century, humans began to look to the solar system and stars and started researching interplanetary travel. This led to the creation of the astral gates and the disastrous Gate Accident.

Post Gate AccidentEdit

During the Gate Accident in 2022, much of the Moon was destroyed. As a result, the Earth became continuously bombarded with radiation and debris, destroying a large portion of its population and rendering the planet uninhabitable. The vast majority of humans left the Earth for other planets, where they eventually settled down and brought about new cultures and civilizations. Even in 2071, some people, such as Edward and Mr. Appledelhi, still remain on Earth, able to eke out a living.
